Hi. I’m a UX Designer who practices fierce empathy and thinks in systems.

We’re often told technology's the answer.
It isn’t. It’s simply a conduit.
I hold an unwavering belief that the humans behind the screens are what matter most. Technology should facilitate interaction, human connection, seamless workflows and generally support peoples’ daily lives.
Experiences that are well executed and designed with the end-user as the north star can become invisible; often this very invisibility causes memorability. Broadly this is what I strive for in my work — ease, improvement, and delight.
This is not only true for the products I help to build, but also in my approach to teamwork. I make individual and team work more engaging, fun and seamless by thinking holistically, systemically and working collaboratively.

I value meaningful experiences and human connection.

I’m skilled and interested in creating and refining internal processes for Design teams. Why?
Because I’m passionate about identifying and removing friction points and building environments where deep work can happen. Another way of saying it: I’m not interested in process just for process’ sake, or when process gets in the way of good work.
Drop a line if you’d like to chat about opportunities that would be a good mutual fit, I’d love to connect with you.

Still curious? Here’s a bit more:

I approach work and life with endless curiosity and a healthy dose of humor. I’ve held many past lives in this one alone, highlights include:
  • Living for 4 years in Eastern Tennessee (where I moved for grad school to study printmaking).
  • Being the Studio Manager for a printmaking arts non-profit.
  • Leading print workshops as a visiting teaching artist at institutions ranging from Chicago’s MCA to Public Libraries to Private and Community Colleges.
  • Making lovely things with flowers at a small floral boutique.
  • Owning the end-to-end process of implementing an iPad POS system at that floral studio.
  • Working at a B2B SaaS company implementing a highly configurable product which tailored health insurance recommendations to employees.
  • Challenging students while fostering their growth through teaching UX/UI Design.
While wide spanning, all these experiences and roles are heavily interactive and process focused. No wonder I’m drawn to examining and improving platforms, systems and tools.
